Each VR course companion, sometimes called the training simulation, is meticulously crafted to prepare students with the fundamental skills necessary for high-demand careers across diverse industries. To access the VR course companion, students must be enrolled in the respective community college course. Once enrolled, librarians and/or the course instructors will provide onboarding sessions, granting students access to the VR course companion.
Students begin by completing an introductory tutorial to familiarize themselves with the VR controllers and how to navigate and interact within the virtual world. Once students have mastered these foundational skills, the course companion guides them through course lessons, each followed by a brief assessment to gauge comprehension. The VR course companion is an invaluable educational resource, offering students access to a ‘second teacher’ in the virtual realm. This allows students to revisit and repeat simulations as needed, ensuring comprehensive understanding and serving as an effective study aid. This experience is available via VR headsets only.
The VR course companions are available for:
Dialysis Technician
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Advanced Manufacturing
HVAC Technician (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)
Math for Tech
* It's important to note that VR headsets will only need Wi-Fi access to initially link the Lifeliqe accounts to the VR course companions in the headset, students will not need continuous Wi-Fi connectivity to access the VR course companion once it's linked. All the content necessary for your VR experience is preloaded into the headset.
