Law of Diffusion of Innovation
Explains how, over time, an idea or product gains momentum and diffuses (or spreads) through a specific population or social system.
Now that we have a clear understanding of Project SANDI's big idea and its new upcoming digital tools (i.e., Virtual Reality, Field Trips, 3-D images). Let's start by understanding how these different digital tools can benefit populations with different needs and why someone would reject or put off these opportunities.
Not only is Project SANDI introducing new and innovative digital tools to patrons but also to its community of practice members! As a Community of Practice member, you too fall under this Law of Diffusion of Innovation, and for being part of the first cohort to learn how to use SANDI tools, you are an early adopter!
Worksheet: Introducing new technology is always met with a certain resistance level or instant early adoption. Some individuals will immediately see the value of these new technological resources while others don't and express their hesitation or late adoption.
