Group 1 Kick off Outcomes!

by Jahairy Rivera on 2023-03-14T13:53:00-07:00 | 0 Comments

At week six of the SANDI statewide kickoff for Group #1, here are some outcomes by the numbers:

  • 10 kickoff events hosted within 10 different branches
  • 78 patrons served with 177 total interactions that take 39 mins each, including taking 47 field trips in virtual reality.
    • Of the 78 patrons served 5 are already enrolled in a SANDI training program from Great Basin College. Using virtual reality field trips, this success was initiated through library-led career exploration at Pershing County High School Library, in Lovelock.
      • Here are the details:
        • With capped enrollment, 1/3 of the students going to the Winnemucca Great Basin College campus are from Lovelock – over an hour's driving distance each way
        • 2 of the five students currently work at Pershing County General Hospital and are upskilling
        • Great Basin College is working to re-establish the CNA program in Lovelock for future cohorts
        • Pershing County High School is providing:
          • Transportation 2x/week during clinical for their students
          • Accommodation for students missing class on Wednesdays due to clinical requirements.
        • Pershing County General Hospital Foundation is sponsoring a gas stipend of over $1,000.
        • Pershing County General Hospital is already working on securing the clinical for May in Lovelock so moving forward the commute is not required
